The Supremacy of Christ

The most significant thing the bible reveals to us is the supremacy of Christ!

John 1:3 declares that, “All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being.” There are those who appropriate this statement as to apply only to the event of God creating the heavens, the earth, and everything on the earth. However, the context of this text is deeper than the initial creation.

Jesus said of himself in John 14:6, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.” Have you ever noticed that “the way” (the way we ought to live our lives, the way we are pleasing to God, etc.) is a person? The same applies to truth and life. Jesus says he is it, just like when God told Moses His name is “I Am that I Am”.

In addition, Jesus wraps up John 14:6 by telling the disciples that no one comes to the Father except through Him! Not only did John talk about the supremacy of Christ, so did Christ Himself! So, if there are those attempting to live any part of their life apart from Christ with the intent of being pleasing to God, they’re in their own self-righteousness, and they are fooling themselves.

The only way to be right with God the Father is to yield to Christ every day of our lives, period! The only truth and source of truth is Jesus, period! The only life one can posses is the life of Christ, period! Everything associated with our existence is filtered by Christ because, “All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. (John 1:3)”
